Mid-USA Handlebars — Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the right handlebars comes down to your riding position, bike style and personal preference. Whether you’re building a traditional chopper, bobber, cruiser or custom Softail, consider the bar height, width, pullback and overall riding comfort before making your selection.

Fitment depends on your motorcycle’s year, model, handlebar diameter, risers and control setup. Always check the product specifications and application details before ordering to ensure the handlebars suit your build.

Handlebars are available in different diameters, depending on the design and intended application. Check the product listing for the exact diameter and confirm compatibility with your risers, clamps and handlebar controls.

Not always. Some handlebars work with your existing risers, while others may require different riser heights, mounting diameters or clamp arrangements. Check the handlebar specifications and riser compatibility before purchasing.

Some handlebars are suitable for electronic throttle-by-wire systems, while others may be designed for traditional cable-operated throttles. Confirm the handlebar and control compatibility for your particular motorcycle before ordering.

Possibly. Changing handlebar height, width or pullback can affect the length and routing of your throttle wiring, clutch cable, brake lines and electrical wiring. Check for adequate clearance and safe cable routing throughout the steering range.

Installation depends on your experience, motorcycle and handlebar setup. Controls, wiring, brake lines and throttle operation must be correctly installed and checked. If you’re unsure, have the work completed or inspected by a qualified motorcycle mechanic.

Both can matter. The right handlebars can transform your motorcycle’s stance while helping create a more natural riding position. Consider your riding style and ergonomics alongside the look you want for your build.

Review the product’s dimensions, mounting requirements, control compatibility and listed motorcycle applications. If your build uses modified forks, custom risers or non-standard controls, additional measurements may be needed before ordering.

Before purchasing, confirm:
- Handlebar diameter and mounting compatibility.
- Bar width, height and pullback.
- Compatibility with your throttle and hand controls.
- Clearance for the tank, cables, wiring and brake lines.
- Motorcycle year, model and any custom modifications.
